To Do Tuesday #7
It’s To Do Tuesday #7! I’m linking up with Home Sewn by Us for weekly encouragement as we tackle our quilting projects. Stop over at Home Sewn by Us and encourage the others who have linked up.
Last Week
Improv Triangles – I’m making progress on this fun improv project. This is a sew along on Instagram hosted by Nicholas Ball (@quiltsfromtheattic). My triangles are sewn, and I’m beginning to sew them into slabs.
You can see the slabs I’ve sewn on the right in the above photo. It doesn’t look like much yet, but it’s slowly taking shape. I may make more triangles as I go along if I need to.
Fractured Triangles – Not to be confused with improv triangles above. My Fractured Triangles quilt (pattern by Carole Lyles Shaw) didn’t get any attention this week. I may need to wait to do anything on this quilt until later in March.
Squiggles Quilt – I didn’t get the binding on this quilt this week. My week got busier outside of my home, so not much sewing was done. I may wait on this one until later March as well.
This Week
Improv Triangles – I’ll continue to construct the quilt top this week. If I get the top done, I may start quilting it if I have time.
Awesome Ocean SAL – Saturday is the day I am guest host for Kathleen McMusing’s Awesome Ocean SAL. My quilt top done, so my goal for this week is to get it quilted and bound. I hope to take the quilt with me on the road for a photo shoot by the ocean. We’ll see if that happens!
March Pincushion – I’m in a pincushion swap, so I need to get my March pinnie done and ready to mail. I’ll work on it this week.
That’s it for my To Do Tuesday #7. What are you up to this week?

that will be an interesting piece – I’m wondering what it will be like in the end – I will be watching 🙂
Quilting is in my Blood
Love how that slab of improv triangles is taking shape. And that fractured triangles project is wonderful. Can’t wait to see your completed Awesome Ocean quilt, and a pic by the ocean would be perfect (if possible). Have a great day, Mary.

Anything with wonky triangles catches my eye…the slab is growing strong!
Linda
Loving your improv triangles, and the word “slab”, which reminds me of pie. 😉 The fractured triangles quilt is beautiful.

I love your improv!! The Nicholas Ball one is amazing looking and I’ve been wanting to make one of my own, but I’m terrified!

The improv triangles project is so fascinating, Wendy! I love how you’re grouping the background colors so they move from one to the other. Looking forward to seeing your Awesome Ocean quilt, too!

Hi Wendy! I am so drawn to your Improv Triangles. I think I am going to have to check out the link you shared . . . even though I don’t want to detour down that path. Ooh, you’re the host on Saturday and your quilt top is finished?!! I can’t wait to see that all together. A photoshoot by the ocean . . . or even a Lake Superior sounds perfecto. Finally, I have a pattern for a pincushion I’d like to make . . . but I’ve never made one and don’t really need one. Intriguing again, oh Grand Poobah of Squirrels. You’re at it again. Thanks for linking up today. ~smile~ Roseanne

Those improve triangles look so fun. I didn’t see this challenge in time. Will follow where you take yours.

I love your improv triangles and saw the instructor’s at QuiltCon! I love that you are ahead of me…I hope to finish this weeks block tomorrow and the next one Thursday- however – I am still recuperating. It is funny when something grabs us we just run with it!

So glad to see more of your improv triangles happening this past week, it is going to be really fun to see how it all comes together and to watch you quilt it.

Pretty projects, I love your Triangles!

I’m a day behind in my blog reading. I love your fractured triangles. I’m looking for inspiration about what to do with all my HST’s once I have them sewn together. This improv look is kind of what I have in mind, but not sure yet.

You are on a roll with the triangles, Wendy. I do love your improv blocks. Looks like lots of happy stitching at your house.
