Tuesday Check In

I’m here with my Tuesday check-in with the To Do Tuesday link up hosted by Linda at Texas Quilt Gal. I’ll give you a little peek at my progress with my ongoing to do list.

First though, I thought you’d enjoy the above photo, which was my view on Sunday afternoon. BigJ and I celebrated our 34th anniversary. Our son and daughter joined us for the day and we rented a pontoon. I think we all needed the quiet cruise on the water. It was peaceful and lovely.

Okay, let’s see what I managed to get done this week.

Improv Quilt Tiles – Done!

My third improv block using the Off the Wall pattern by Jean Wells - piecefulthoughts.com

I’ve made a few of these blocks before, and you can see them here. I find them so relaxing and fun. These three will decorate the women’s restroom at our church.

This was a fun block, and you can read about it here

Monthly Color Challenge Block – Done!

I had planned to get this posted on Monday, but our busy weekend changed things up a bit. I’ll be showing you this block soon!

Llama Mini Quilt – Done!

Alphie the llama is done and ready to grace one of the classroom doors at our church.

In the midst of all the sewing and celebrating, our daughter recovered some chair seats. Wilbs was enjoying the texture of the fabric, and checking out that paper.

Ok, here’s my list for this week:

Start

Challenge Quilt – this is due Nov. 1st; so it’s time to get serious.

Continue

  • Hole in the Day – this gets priority this week
  • Wonky Star Runner
  • Two and Four QAL – I’m caught up and waiting for the next step

Finish

  • QIS Monochrome Challenge
  • Bind Plus Playtime, Beothuk, and 2020 MCC

Prep

  • Red/Tan Quilt back
  • Backing for Coreopsis and Let Your Star Shine

And that’s my Tuesday check-in for this week. Thanks to Linda (Texas Quilt Gal) for keeping this linky party going!

love your Santa Fe trail block – looks like a nice relaxing day to celebrate your anniversary on a clear sunny day on the water

Isn’t that just cool you will have your quilting pieces hanging in your church! Maybe you’ll get some business from that:) Those improv’s are delicious, are you using canvass frames to put them on? And the Llama is just crazy cute!

How peaceful that pontoon ride sounds. I dearly love our DIL and SIL and grands, but I would LOVE to have a day with just our son and daughter! Your improv is beautiful. I clicked on your link to read your May post. Those are gorgeous too! I love the stretched canvas idea – makes a very special decoration.
Thanks for linking to To Do Tuesday!

Pontoon boat + Blue Sky = Relaxation
Now what little one wouldn’t love to go into his/her Sunday school room when there’s an orange llama to greet him/her!!

Fun post today! A calm cruise on the water sounds like a fabulous idea! Happy Anniversary! Alphie the Llama is the cutest! I really like the improv tiles too!

wow a day on the pontoon sounds fab! Was it hot like here? Did you sunburn on the water? Recovering chairs sounds like a good way to have a fresh look. What a lot you got done Wendy and it left the house as donations to brighten everyone’s day

On the pontoon, eh?!! Look at that lovely view. Calm, serene – what a great way to celebrate 34 years together. Congrats!! Your latest improv tiles look like they should be a tote, to me. In fact, I hear them whispering to me – ask Wendy to make another improv tiles piece and then turn it into a tote. There’s a nice little fun squirrel for you. Alphie is adorbs (!!) but not as adorbs as Wilbs. HAHA – did he think that paper was going to bite him?!! I hope his visit is stress-free and filled with good news. ~smile~ Roseanne

What a fun Day on the water! A great idea and having fun is so important. Wilbs looks happy to be in the thick of things. He must have been happy to see your daughter. Those improve tiles are lovely…are they pillows. Love the doorhanging.

What a lovely way to celebrate an anniversary. Love Alfie the llama; I have a second one assembled but haven’t quilted either of them – must do that soon. Love the tiles too – so restful.

  • Kathleen McCormick

Oh, those improv pillows will be a welcome addition to the church! I love the pontoon anniversary – lots of fun and a beautiful day – congrats on 34 years! Wilbur is certainly a help in the patterning process.

Wish you a very happy anniversary, Wendy. Hope you had a lovely day and Big J spoiled you. I am a huge fan of improv piecing and Iike those tiles very much but your super cute Llama stole my heart!!!

  • Cheree Hull

Happy Anniversary to you both! The pontoon ride sounds like a wonderfully relaxing way to spend the day. Your improv tiles are really pretty in color AND interest. Great art! Good luck on the to-dos! (I might have to skip a couple weeks! Gah!)
