Tuesday Tasks
Tuesday tasks – okay, not really. It’s actually my weekly to do list, and I’m linking up today with Texas Quilt Gal for her To Do Tuesday linky party. Do you join in the party? Each week, we write up a post of our goals or to-do lists for the week, then check back next Tuesday to share how we’ve done. If that interests you, join us! You can link up right here.
Last week, my main goal was to clean up my sewing area a bit, to prepare for the next improv projects I’m working on. I got that done. I had so much fun doing that, I cleaned up a bit more. Along the way, I found a bag of random HSTs (why do I save them???). I pulled them out, and got completely distracted. Next thing I knew, I had this little mini sewn up, along with one other (that I haven’t taken a photo of yet).
I’m thinking they may be fun for some free motion practice. The mini shown is 17.5″ unfinished, an easy size for practicing free motion. The other one is just a bit larger. I’ll share a photo soon!
After all that tidying up, I got to work on my other improv projects. My challenge quilt for the Quilt Improv Studio is well underway. So far, it’s turning out like I thought it would, but it’s larger than I anticipated. Here’s a couple of peeks.
The colors are very bold and bright. It’s quite dramatic and I’m enjoying it more than I anticipated. I’m already pondering quilting and the top isn’t done yet. I’m about halfway done, so watch for a few more sneak peeks.
My other improv quilt is for the Modern Improv Quilt Academy. I’ve made good progress on that one, too, but no photo to share quite yet. Soon!
I also put the binding on the last of three quilts that were waiting to be bound, so I’ll have some finishes to show you soon. One of them is the quilt Wilbs is snuggled into in the photo above. He has claimed it as his own!
This week, my tasks are just to keep going on the improv projects, and keep them moving forward. I have plenty of time to finish them, so it’s a no-stress week for me.
What about you? What are your Tuesday tasks? Happy stitching, all!

To just sit and sew and not feel bad about moving my newest rescue, Ms Stella outta my sewing chair to a cat bed somewhere around the room where another if my 5 other kitties isn’t sleeping. Wendy, you know today is Twosday! 2.22.22

Will you have a snow day of sewing? I’m impressed that you bound three quilts! What a great feeling to finish them up. We’ll get 1-3” of snow today so I plan to sew.

What a tease–both the eyes of Wilb and the Improv! How much bigger will it get? Your little mini is super cheery–love the border fabric. That’s a lot of binding to be proud of! Way to go!

LOL on Tuesday’s tasks!!! Just a lot of fun quilting going on in your studio, and Wilbs thrown in amongst it all!!!

Looking forward to seeing your finishes! The HST mini is a fun one, and I love the peeks at your improv project, too. Happy sewing!

That improv project has peaked my interest. Love the bold colors with the black print(s). That Wilbs. Sure knows how to charm us readers. A Clean Sewing Room…good book title. I’d have more luck reading it than executing the plan. I save half square triangles and triangles of all sides. Have enough for several quilts! Have a great day.

I save HSTs too! What a fun mini your distraction turned into. Love the colors on your improv, glad you are enjoying it so much. Thank you for the peek at Wilbs. I have a new sewing room assistant this morning who is not nearly as calm as my kitties. Boomer is crated in the sewing room where maybe I can actually get some stuff done!
Thanks for linking up with To Do Tuesday!

Ahh, Wilbs! It’s a good day to claim a quilt and snuggle into it. I don’t blame him on bit. I save HSTs, too. Why? My thought is that they are going to be part of a doll quilt someday soon. I love your mini and it is the perfect size for FMQ practice. Good luck with you list for the week. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Wendy that Improv piece is perfect for the challenge. Love the mini from leftovers. Looking forward to seeing Wilbs new quilt. Good luck this week on getting thing done you want to. 😉

Love what you did with your half square triangles. I have a heap of them I want to do something with at some point. You’ve got me itching to drag mine out.

Yet another impressive list. Your improv quilt has really piqued my curiosity.

What a delightful little quilt. I like how the border draws everything together. I’ve been trying to decide what to do with a multitude of triangles cut with a Accuquilt 2.5 triangle. Your colors are much better than what I have hanging around. Looking forward to seeing the second one.
