Tuesday To Do List
I took a little unplanned break last week, but it’s time for me to share my Tuesday To Do List and join up with Texas Quilt Gal for her weekly linky party.
In my last Tuesday post, I was working on improv quilts. I finished the top for the Quilt Improv Studio Primary Improv Challenge, which is due March 31st. I have yet to quilt it; I’m not sure if I will get it done but we will see.
I’ll write more about this in its own post soon (I hope), but this one was a challenge for me in so many ways. The bold colors were a little intimidating, and yet I enjoyed working with them. This was an improv design I had sketched out, which was constricting to work with. Yes, I deviated a bit from my sketch, but not much. Anyway, more on that later.
I have not made any further progress on my other improv piece. I had to set it aside to work on some other upcoming projects.
I got just a wee bit distracted while cleaning up my SAHRR mess, and played a bit with the leftover bits and pieces. This is what I ended up with.
This little runner is 10″ x 24″ or so. You can see those oversized signature blocks that didn’t make it into my SAHRR quilt, the leftover star blocks, and the remains of what I thought would be the final border, those cheddar wavy strips, which were supposed to play with the shoo-fly blocks, but didn’t.
This week, I have a few things I’ll be working on for this week’s Tuesday To Do List.
Hands2Help
When Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict posted she needed to take a break from Hands2Help this year, Mari from The Academic Quilter stepped up and offered to host the challenge this year. Don’t you just love our quilting community and how we step up for one another?
I’ll be sharing a quick quilt idea in early April for those of you who are wanting to join in but need an idea for a really quick quilt. It’s a fun one!
If you’d like to join in, but need more info, click on this link. Mari has been posting quilt ideas, too, so be sure to follow her.
Wonderful World of Color Blog Hop
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, it will come as no surprise to you that I needed to jump in on this blog hop hosted by MooseStash Quilting. I have ideas – so many ideas! What to choose? You’ll have to wait and see my post in April.
If you are interested in joining in, contact Joan at MooseStash Quilting and see if she has any slots open. You can click on the above link to get to her site.
I’m Hosting TGIFF
This Friday, March 11th, I’m hosting TGIFF – Thank Goodness It’s Finished Friday. I hope you have a finish to share and come back and link up. I’m pretty excited to share my finish; I just need to get photos done.
If you’d like to host TGIFF, there are still some slots open. Just click on the link, and you’ll find the information on how to host.
That’s it for my Tuesday To Do List this week. I think those tasks should keep me busy, don’t you? What are you working on this week?

A very Piet Mondrian vibe to it, don’t you think?

Geesh I didn’t know you had so much going on, you will be busy this week!! I love your SAHRR extra piece you made:)

Aha! Just when I was wondering where your link was, it popped up. I love the table runner and am completely envisioning a basket of bright, bold Easter Eggs in it (you know, the last ones you color, the ones you can put in the color and walk away from to get them super dark!). I insist!
You’ve got a lot going on here! (Don’t forget to take care of YOU!). I haven’t been successful at getting more than one post out per week but hopefully I’ll remember to get on here and post a finish of my current project. (Remind me!!). Good luck on the to-do’s and give Wilbs a hug! And you too!

Hi Wendy! Ahh, Wilbs. It is a tough life to have some tasks on Tuesday, but you can do it, buddy. Enjoy that sunshine! LOVE your improv piece. I can envision it quilted following the shapes – curved and straight lines. Follow your vision – you got this! Egad – you’re hosting TGIFF this Friday?! I was thinking of writing my SAHRR post and share the finish ahead of the parade . . . you might just force my hand, my friend. I think I might be able to do that!! Happy Tuesday. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

The letter fabric in your improv quilt is so cute! I love those bright colors! What a cute, cheery table runner! Those wavy strips sure place nice in this project! Wishing you a happy sewing week!

Your improv quilting is so much fun to see. I love your new addition.

Wilbur looks like he is having a purr-fest time in the sun. Those colors would be hard for me, too, but I think you did a fabulous job with this improv piece. And the table runner, what a good use of the leftover bits from SAHRR. I’ll post on TGIFF! I have one I did that I haven’t yet posted. Hooray. Good luck with your quilt for H2H and your projects this week!

Your SAHRR scrappy runner is darling! As is Wilbs. 🙂 That bright improv quilt is stunning. You have a lot going on – glad you manage to have fun in the sewing room!
Thanks for linking up with To Do Tuesday!

Your improv quilt looks amazing, Wendy! And I love the little runner you made with the leftover round robin pieces, too. Great way to use them up! You’re hosting TGIFF?! I’ll just have to finish something, lol!
Yvonne @Quilting Jetgirl
You have a lot of fun projects to work on and look forward to! 🙂

Your first improv project is so cheerful. I’m sure the colors were challenging but it was worth the effort. I vote that you finish it. And I think that little runner is just the right way to use up all those leftover pieces from the round robin project. I think you are keeping very busy and I hope you are enjoying it. As always, Wilbs is right there for all of us to enjoy.

Cute runner, Wendy!! Looking forward to seeing the other projects you have in the works.
Quilting is in my Blood
I love what you did with your SAHRR leftovers. And I definitely look forward to your Wonderful World of Color blog hop post. Cute pic of Wilbs. He’s quite the photogenic cat!

See I could never come up with something so interesting and eye pleasing as that runner you made. And the solids are looking so nice together too. I need to use more of those in my quilting. Good luck with your challenges and the hosting too, sewing up a storm Wendy!

Love your table runner with the left-overs! What a fantastic idea! Now … what did I do with my extra blocks?
I’ll be back on Friday with a link-up finish!
Happy Quilting! 🙂

I feel quite breathless, reading about all that you have accomplished and all that you intend to do. Well done! Your improv piece and your table runner are both stunning
