Wednesday Progress
Progress is happening in the quilt room while this week has been buzzing along, and my sewing machine has been humming. I finished five little dresses and will soon get them in the mail to Lori of Humble Quilts. Lori will be taking the dresses with her on a missions trip. You can read about that here.
They were fun to make. As I was walking back into the house after taking the above photo, I got distracted by our hydrangea tree. Look at those big blossoms, with just a tinge of pink beginning to show!
I finished the Maureen Cracknell quilt top using her Garden Dreamer line. I’m not going to show the whole quilt until it’s done and been given to its new owners. Here’s a peek though.
And guess what? I have some scraps left over! I cannot wait to play with them and make something more from this beautiful fabric!
I’m also just about finished with a quilt for my daughter. No pictures yet, but I’ll post some soon. It’s a really cute, simple quilt using a fun fabric with toadstools. I can’t wait to get it in the mail to her!
County Fair Block Update
Oh, by the way, remember that fun little red, white and blue block I made and submitted to our county fair? I got an honorable mention on it. I was up against some pretty talented quilters. Thought you’d like to know.
I’m off to visit Connie this morning and drop off the 70273 Project Quilt and the Maureen Cracknell quilt so she can work her long arm magic on them. I hope to have my daughter’s quilt to her soon too!
That’s what I’ve been up to this week? What about you? What’s keeping you busy?

Hi Wendy! Love the dresses!!! Hydrangeas are one of my fav flowers–very pretty with the tinge of pink! Two quilt tops?! Humming is right! Congrats on the block. What’s going to happen to it next? As for me, I’m quilting the second largest quilt I’ve ever quilted on my longarm, a client quilt.

Wow you are just moving right along-good for you! It’s snowman day at my house today, my friend sews the bodies while I cut them out. Getting work done and good camaraderie! Congrats on the HM!

You’ve been far busier than me. I’ve finished a cushion and that’s it. Can’t wait to see the whole quilt and what you make from those gorgeous scraps xxx

Congratulations, Wendy, on your honourable mention! Your block was lovely, I’m not surprised it did well. The little dresses are very cute. I’m sure they were fun to make. I’ve been working on the September block of my Calendar Quilt. Next week all my children will be back at school and I’m looking forward to getting back into my sewing room, it’s always tricky over the summer!

Well done for getting an honourable mention. That’s really good.
You’ve been pretty busy – lovely collection of dresses.
I’m still preserving garden & wild produce – it’s getting to the busiest time for that. I’m planning on picking extra blackberries so I can dye as well as preserve and I’m working on my fabric pots as a local craft shop has agreed to stock them.
And then there’s the admin…..
