Catching Up

Yesterday I spent the day resting and finishing up laundry from the trip. Monday was a busy day, so it was nice to have a quieter day. In the quilt room, I decided to keep it simple.

My small EPP piece is sewn together. Once I remove all the papers, I’ll attached it to the pillow background.

The fabrics I chose for this EPP were from my stash and purposely chosen for practice. I don’t have many fabrics in my stash that work well for fussy cutting. The leaf fabric was the best I had. The pillow background will be tan, and I think that will set off this motif well. This is the Pollen Pillow pattern by Night Quilter that was came with The Quilter’s Planner this year.

I have been watching some class videos on Bluprint (no affiliate). One of my favorite classes is by Joe Cunningham entitled Pattern Free Quilting. Now seemed to be a good time to try a few of his concepts, so I played a bit with some fabrics from my stash. Here’s a little sneak peek.

More about this fun quilt on Friday. See you then!

  1. thanks for mentioning that class – I hadn’t watched that one and put it on my list – I like the look of straight lines – not that I have a quilt top finished right now that is the right size for me to tackle with my sewing machine LOL but I will watch the class and keep it in mind

  2. Hi Wendy! Wow your fussy cutting and EPP piece looks great. Lots of little pieces there! Your sneak peek looks fun, too, and I love that nice straight line quilting. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I think the fussy cutting on your EPP piece turned out great! Those look like tiny pieces, too. A pillow seems like the perfect spot to show off the pretty design you made!
