It started with a few charity quilt blocks that I was going to piece and send to Carole at From My Carolina Home. Then I asked my quilt group to join me in making blocks, and boy, did they ever! I’m so grateful to them for joining me in this.
We had enough blocks to make two charity quilts. I thought you’d like to see them before I send them on their way.
The Red Quilt
I’m calling it the red quilt because the blocks are more predominantly red and pink, and it has a red binding.
Connie did a simple crosshatch design for the quilting. Both quilts measure 70 x 98 inches.
I think the jeweled tones of the blocks are so pretty. One of the ladies in our group donated a lovely fabric for the backing.
The Green Quilt
The green quilt has more green/blue blocks and green binding. All the rest of the features of the quilt are the same as the red quilt.
Here’s a closer photo of the green binding and that pretty backing.
Both of these quilts were part of the Hands2Help project hosted by Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict. I’ll be sending these on their way soon!

The color are so rich! Great job!
You ladies did a fantastic job, you should all give yourself a pat on the back.
Lovely quilts!
Two lovely quilts! It’s a great pattern to use for a scrap quilt and for group work too. I’m sure they will be much appreciated, well done to all.
Those quilts are beautiful! I’m sure the recipients will cherish them. And you finished binding them!!!
They sparkle like jewels! Your group had some really marvelous fabrics and together they truly shine with love and beauty. Gorgeous donations!
They are beautiful. The backing fabric is so delicate and pretty, and it works perfectly with the blocks.
Hi Wendy! Another post I almost missed. And I’m glad I didn’t miss it – these turned out so nicely. I love this block, and I know Carole will appreciate these so much. It’s so nice of your quilt group to have joined in! What a wonderful post. ~smile~ Roseanne
Lovely – fellow quilters are so generous in supporting charitable projects.
Oh my gosh Wendy! These quilts are beautiful! It’s so nice it became a group project. What a wonderful gift, the recipients will appreciate them so. 💕
All pretty quilts. It is always good to help charity.
Beautiful quilts for a wonderful cause! I love the jewel tones – but that is my preferred color palette – when other things aren’t dictating other choices!
And I am going to call them sweet and lovely. I am sure they will be loved and cherished, wherever they go.
Gorgeous, Wendy, thank you so much for helping the project!!
