Finally a Finish

Finally a finish – it always feels good to say those words, doesn’t it? It’s been quite awhile since I’ve finished a larger quilt, so I’m excited to show this to you today.

My Squiggles quilt, pattern by Christa Watson, using Alison Glass fabrics - piecefulthoughts.com

My Squiggles quilt is from a quilt along a year (or two?) hosted by Christa Watson. For my quilt, I used Alison Glass Sunprint fabrics with an Alison Glass text fabric. The saturated colors in her fabrics just glow, don’t they? It definitely made sewing all those folded corners more fun, since I had all those pretty colors to look at.

Here’s a close up of the background text fabric, also Alison Glass. You can see Connie’s wonderful quilting, in squiggles, of course!

The background fabric looks like multi-colored confetti. I thought it was perfect for this quilt. It makes me think of a celebration. I finished it off with a multi-colored striped binding. Both of the fabrics came from Bernie at Needle & Foot. In case you didn’t see it above, here’s that fun rolled quilt photo again!

One more view of this lap quilt, with its bright, happy colors.

So – finally a finish! Linking up today with Tish at The Madd Quilter for her UFO Busting Linky Party.

  1. nice quilt always so nice to have a finish isn’t it. Looks like you have a nice deck to be on when the weather warms up for you although on cool days sometimes I sit on the porch with jacket on for 10 minutes or so just breath fresh air!

  2. Testing testing getting ready to give my I’d again. I thought this quilt was finished at the same time the Sistas were.

  3. That is pretty, Wendy! A very happy finish! It is always a good feeling to have something “finally finished.” I definitely have a few quilt tops that are waiting their turn for that designation!

  4. Hi Wendy! Yay to a finish. And a pretty one at that. I just adore the fabrics you chose. I love the rolled up shot, and that binding is spiffy. Nice job, my friend. ~smile~ Roseanne
