Friday Finish

I have a small Friday Finish today. On Monday, the Temecula Quilt Company posted the Merry Mini Monday little quilt on their blog. Since I have no quilt projects to make for Christmas gifts, I decided to make a mini from their pattern. What fun it was!

All of the fabrics for my mini are from my reproduction fabric stash. I love it when I have all the fabrics I need for a quilt project, without having to wait until I order more fabric or buzz to the local quilt shop! What a great way to use up a little of my stash!

Once I had all the fabrics cut, it was easy to put this together with a little chain piecing here and there. With the top done, I added the batting and backing, and simply quilted it on the diagonal using a neutral thread.

The backing is a just a neutral fabric from my reproduction stash. A green remnant was used for the binding. The quilt measures 11-1/2″ x 15-1/2″ finished. If you are looking for a quick pattern for a Christmas gift, this would be a good one to consider. It can easily be made

The rest of the week was spent celebrating my birthday a tiny bit. A little cake, and a little coffee with family and friends is always a good thing.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of sewing fun!

  1. Great little mini! I know how satisfying it is to make something soup to nuts from stash 🙂

Happy, happy birthday, Wendy! Sounds like you are celebrating in relaxed style.

  2. Your little quilt turned out cute. We must be on the same wavelength because I was picking out fabrics for a little quilt I want to make yesterday, and they look an awful lot like the fabrics in your quilt. Happy birthday! Coffee with friends sounds like a nice way to celebrate.

  3. Love, love that little quilt! So glad you got to do something ‘just because you can’! Have a great weekend. My email is acting up can’t send out only receive:(

  4. Hi Wendy! I’m glad you were able to celebrate your birthday with family and friends. That’s just how it should be. I love your little mini quilt! The fabrics are just perfect, and it really shines with that green binding. And how nice is it to go to your stash and find some loves that you’ve been saving for the perfect project! Happy Friday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

  5. Happy Birthday. I love it when I can make something entirely from Stash as well. The runner looks great in your reproduction fabrics and I bet it would look great in modern fabrics as well.
