My mini snowman blocks are done and hanging in my kitchen. You might recall my earlier post when I showed them all pieced.

The patterns are from Lori Holt’s Vintage Christmas book. These 6-inch blocks were such fun to piece together.
I added batting and backing and did some simple quilting in the sky area of the blocks. I left the snowmen unquilted. They hang high enough that you cannot see the quilting. The striped binding adds a little fun, don’t you think?

The snowman bodies are made using Moda Grunge in white fog. The rest of the fabrics are from my scraps. The faces and arms are made with Crayola fabric markers.
They hang alongside this little sign above my kitchen sink.

I thought you’d get a chuckle out of seeing my reflection in the window as I was balancing on a step stool, trying to hold still enough to snap this photo.
I haven’t been getting much sewing time in lately; I’ve been spending time with my daughter while she’s home. The two mini snowman blocks are my last finishes for 2019.
What projects are you working on this week?
Wendy

Those snow men are sweet! That striped border sets them off perfectly, as they watch that you’re doing the dishes. Glad you had some family time, even if it cut into your sewing time. We’ve winter ahead to catch up on that.
Love your cute snowmen! They look perfect along side your sign.
Hi Wendy ….love the snowman quilt blocks…so cute! I’m still working on making new items for my shop. Have a great week — glad you’re having fun with your daughter! I got to spend so much time with the kids during November and December I’m going through withdrawal–seems so quiet with just hubby and I 🙂
They are the perfect addition to your kitchen to add some January cheer;) I always love a striped binding.
the snowmen are so cute for a winter decoration!! I was outside the other day looking the yard over and found some daffodils peaking out of the ground already! but we still have 2 months of winter coming at least still but it has been so much warmer than normal here for winter this year – have fun with your daughter
Cute little snowmen! I want to make some of these too. I already have the book. I had to look again at the picture as I missed seeing your reflection. My first reaction upon seeing the picture was “my goodness. You have a large window over your sink.”
Cute! Perfect place to hang your snowmen, Wendy! That B & W stripe! Whenever we get that stripe in, it sells out in a flash! You’re lucky to have some! Soak up every last minute with your DD!!
Yay for black and white stripe which I have in my stash but I really need to load up on that white fog grunge. The snowman blocks are so darling and perfect hanging over your kitchen window. Do you have enough quilt sets for the seasons now? You could go for changing them monthly now-it’ll be good sewing and exercise. Have fun spending time with your daughter.
Hi Wendy! I am mostly very glad you didn’t FALL off the step stool while taking the photo! Oh, those snowmen look so darn festive up on your kitchen wall. I really love the two different colored scarves. Both of them just make me smile, not that I’m wishing for snow or anything like that. ~smile~ Roseanne
Those are so cute, Wendy – you have the perfect spot for a mini seasonal gallery! I love the Grunge fog and their happy scarves, too. Hope you’ve been having a wonderful time with your daughter home!
Oh…those are too cute. I love how you have them displayed.
Cute snowmen and cute picture! I love the little bits of fun you create. Its a good system – a little place to hang little quilts of fun.
Those are so cute Wendy! I have a similar sign hanging in my dining room, and now I think I need to make a couple little quilts to hang alongside it! I love striped binding, and it looks really good on your little snowmen.
The snowmen are SEW cute! I love them hanging beside your lovely sign!
Happy Quilting! 🙂
Oh my goodness, Wendy, these are so cute!!!! And they look great on your wall. Great photo cameo 🙂
Their little faces are so sweet! And yes, it’s funny to see you perched up on the stool. Just make sure you don’t topple off in your quest for the perfect photo! 🙂
Two more adorable blocks to grace your sign! So cute. I’ve been sewing but not visiting or answering comments very much….
We had first snow yesterday in the DC region. So your timing is perfect for these perfect little snowmen!!! I am playing with my green scraps for RSC2020.
Hi Wendy! Your snowmen are so dern cute!
I’m working on blogging again!!!
