Pieceful Monday

I spent the weekend finishing a secret sewing project. Wanna see a peek?

I can’t show you any more right now, but the full reveal will be mid-October. I’m looking forward to showing it to you!

Gypsy Wife

Last Wednesday I joined my two friends and we worked on our Gypsy Wife quilts. Here are the latest blocks I’ve finished.

Next time I show my update, I’ll have all the blocks together. I’m having fun putting these together with my scraps!

Moda Blockheads 2

I was falling a bit behind with Moda Blockheads, but I managed to get caught up on them this weekend. (It helps when you have the house to yourself with uninterrupted sewing time.) Here’s the latest.

All of these blocks finish at 6 inches. Thankfully, they go together pretty quickly.

Fireburst Mystery Quilt Along

I’m also caught up on Tish’s Fireburst Mystery Quilt Along. I’ve had the blocks done for awhile, but keep forgetting to post a photo.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this come together.

Summertime Sampler 2018

Recently Shelly of Prairie Moon Quilts launched the 2018 Summertime Sampler Block of the Month quilts. I decided to join in and make the modern version. You can see the two sampler versions here. Here is my first block. The fabrics are Bonnie & Camille and Moda Grunge in black.

Wanna join me? There’s still time. All the information is at the link above.

Speaking of Bonnie & Camille, The Fat Quarter Shop recently announced its upcoming Threadology Quilt Along, a charity quilt along that will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Threadology Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop

The quilt along begins in February, so you have plenty of time to join in. You can find all the details at the Fat Quarter Shop.

This week, I’ll be working on a baby quilt that my daughter will give to a friend. I need to have it done and mailed to her before mid-October, which means I better get to work! I hope to have a quilt top to show you on Wednesday.

What about you? How was your weekend sewing?

  1. You’ll have to get BigJ to leave home more often, LOL So fun seeing your block progress. Good work my friend:) I like your Summertime block, of course the B and C fabrics are luscious.

  2. Hi Wendy! I felt a bit lazy this weekend as far as sewing goes. We had a fair amount of company, spaced out just so. That left me feeling like I couldn’t get anything accomplished during the small breaks, so I didn’t! I love the look or sneak peek of your secret sewing. Can’t wait to see it during its reveal! ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I love that yellow binding on the secret project! This is a post all about tempting me 🙂 So many great blocks from QALs. Looks like your free weekend really paid off on the quilting. Fireburst is looking great!

  4. Hi Wendy, I can’t wait to see your secret project — the binding is gorgeous! I was able to get a lot of sewing done this past weekend, we’ve been on the road so much lately I’m behind keeping up with everyone’s beautiful creations!

  5. Looks like you are making great progress! I checked out that sampler, but not in my cards this year. Having some time to yourself is perfect for that, isn’t it? I am taking a staycation week to get caught up – few commitments and not adding much to my schedule. Have a great Monday!

  6. No weekend sewing for me because of the wedding. But tomorrow the kids leave and we get back to regular life. This was a reminder that I need to work in the September Fireburst stitching. Maybe later this week?
