Eva’s SAHRR Border 2

Hi all, I’m just popping in to share Eva’s SAHRR Border 2 for this week. Kathleen’s border prompt was to a double for the border – double block, double border, etc. Eva has been hard at work, figuring out what to do this week, and she has come up with something fun.

Eva chose to use the double pinwheel block. Here’s is what Eva says: “This SAHRR is a challenge in a special way for me. I like to work often ruler-free and without mathematics. This year is opposite for me, I am trying to position the blocks exactly in the corners. This border should connect the fabrics that are used and bring the colors together, echoing the center and first round. I found inspiration from Emily’s blog and this will not be the last time I use this block. It is fun!”

I didn’t think to ask Eva, but I am guessing her border and blocks are close to 6 inches. She made four of the pinwheel blocks, but only got two in the photo. The above photo with the quarter, shows the size of the cute elephant print as well as giving an idea of the border size.

I think Eva’s SAHRR border 2 is a good plan for her quilt. I look forward to seeing what she adds each week – she gets so excited to work on her quilt as she sews along with us!

I’ll see you back here tomorrow for the next border! It’s going to be a fun one!

  1. Thanks for posting Eva’s post. I think she is brave to work without rulers or math, but I love how beautifully her ideas come together. The double pinwheel is really fun!

Eva has interesting fabrics to work with. Her double pinwheels are a perfect solution for this round.
