I Like Thursday 49

Somehow, the days just fly by. How can it be time for my I Like Thursday 49 post? Thursdays are a fun day with LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color and the rest of my quilting friends who enjoy sharing fun things throughout the week that make them smile. LeeAnna lists our whole gang over on her blog, and we’d love to have you visit each of us!

I like the WordSwag app that lets me play with photos like the one above. Connie, Sally and I had a little outing on Monday, stopping at a quilt shop (I behaved!!) and at this pumpkin stand. While I didn’t buy any pumpkins or gourds, I took some photos and now I’m using them while I play with the app.

I like my hydrangea tree with its beautiful fall blush. It has filled out so nicely this year.

I Like Thursday 39 - I'm enjoying this book - piecefulthoughts.com

I like interesting books. Carolyn Porter is a Minnesota author and graphic designer from White Bear Lake. One day while visiting an antique shop in Stillwater, MN, she bought some letters because she wanted to use the handwriting to design a font. The letters, written in French, were sent from Berlin to someone in Paris. How did the letters end up in Stillwater, MN? I haven’t read far enough to tell you, but we – BigJ asked me to read it to him – are enjoying it so far.

The Weekly Wilbs

Will ya quit stickin’ that camera in my face already??!! Wilbs is chilling on our bed, his favorite place to nap during the day. Typical cat, eh?

I Like Thursday 49 will be my last ILT post until October 8th. I’ll be taking a break from posting while I sneak away for a bit. I’ll be back with some fun photos, hopefully full of pretty fall colors!

Wendy

Thanks for visiting my blog! Feel free to leave a comment, and I'll respond via email.

  1. Beautiful hydrangea! Does Wilbur mind when you leave on trips? I have one that sits in the suitcase when I start packing. I’m looking forward to your fall color photos. Have fun!

  2. have a good time away. I should pick some of my hydrangeas and put them in a vase – they look like yours – they might be pretty inside but I wonder if they fall apart fast if you bring them in the house

Those hydrangeas are really lovely. And I love Wilbs- so uninterested. Have a great break and we’ll be here when you get back!

  4. Thank you for such an interesting post. Those pumpkins are lovely as is your hydrangea bush. The book looks interesting,…has it been translated to English? And Wilbs: “Hurry up and take that photo, if you must.” Enjoy your trip.

  5. Hi Wendy! Thanks for the Wilbs photo even if you were disturbing him. Enjoy your vacay away from posting. I love the photo of all of those pumpkins and gourds. You have a great eye for taking photos like that. {{Hugs}} Behave! ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. So glad you’re getting a getaway! Enjoy! I love that pumpkin picture at the top – did the app help you put the words onto the picture? Beautiful hydrangeas, and that book does sound interesting. Love Wilbur’s expression!

  7. Enjoy your trip away, wherever it takes you. I have a hydrangea tree that usually looks just like that, but this year, the leaves and flowers are all very small. I’m worried it may have a disease. It’s 30 years old and I’d hate to lose it. See you in October.

  8. My Rocco has the same sentiments as Wilbur when it comes to cameras… I’ve been enjoying the beautiful blush of hydrangeas around here too, and of course, the pumpkins and gourds and all things Fall!

  9. Love all those gourds! I have that app but never think to use it. Apparently we have similar book tastes–keep us posted on this one, I might want to read it too. (I did finish the Gown, btw!)
